UPDATED – March 29, 2021 - Gov. Tom Wolf once again has granted an extension to the license to carry firearms permits. Permits that expired on or after March 19, 2020 have been extended through June 30, 2021. The extension is required due to the closure of some county courthouses and sheriff's offices, as well as other protective measures that are being implemented. taking to limit the spread of COVID-19.
The Sheriff's Office has implemented a new online process to apply for LTC permits.

We have resumed excepting in person applications via automated kiosks in the Office on a limited basis as well but wait times will be longer than usual. Permit applications will not be accepted after 4:00 PM via kiosks. $20.00 payment must be in the form of cash or money order or you have the option to pay by credit card. You will not receive your permit the same day and you will need to make a second visit to our Office in order to receive your permit. It is strongly suggested that you use the above link when applying for your permit. Using the on-line service from your computer or smart phone will require only one visit to the Office.
We will no longer except mail in permit applications posted dated after May 14, 2021.
